BALLISTA submission & subscription info

We do not have specific issue deadlines. To submit your work for consideration to Ballista, please adhere to these standard guidelines:

* previously unpublished fiction only, on the themes of horror, Gothick, paranormal, psychological, occult & macabre - although SF, dark fantasy or just the downright bizarre are also accepted
* max words around 3500. There is no minimum word count - "flash fiction" also considered
* you may send up to 2 stories per submission
* authors are welcome to include brief biog notes
* we prefer e-mail submissions. Please send as main body text (NB: attachments will not be opened) to paul@mucusart.co.uk, with the subject header Ballista & include a contact postal address
* if you have to snail-mail, subs are to be printed single side & in a sensible font, double spaced with page number, title & author's name on each sheet. Please enclose a stamped sae for response & returns
* to avoid loss of format in e-mail subs please underline italics. We also favour single quotation marks for 'speech'
* all copyright remains with the author
* payment is £5.00 per story & 1 x complimentary copy - so please include a postal address with your submission. Overseas payment is via PayPal
