Default Unhandy

The sky is red
My skin is green

And the big blue balloon of
what might have been
drifts off

Off to a bindu dark dot and then is gone

The vehicle of this life-
the tires go flat more often
of late

The reservoirs of my brakes,
my oil, my water-
they need topping on
a weekly basis

Where does it all go?

Once I knew woman's blessed reward
for living
on my fingertips,
on my tongue,
on my-

Today not even prurient lust
knows my name

Yes- I have become a
limp worm maggot of a man

And such a state, I suppose,
comes to all if they live long enough

There is no dishonor in this

No shame

But, I gotta tell ya, it is a bit

Through the smoke and fog there comes a form ... shape shifting ... could this be the Future?

I loved the reflective nature to this, Nick. Also the teasing, also how there's that sense of loss, but with no regrets -- just that awkward acceptance of growing old and coping.
