Default Hot Psychology ~ Looking for writers ***July2006 Publication of the Month***

I have just accepted a position as Our Cultures Editor of a new magazine called Hot Psychology. The magazine was just a yr old in January. We are looking for new writers. Writers must be 18 or older.

The thing is.. we can not pay right now.. anything the magazine makes is used to keep the mag running. But remember, you will get a lot of experience, you will build writers credits, and you will be published.

You will get a short bio on your first article, and you will get a bio and your picture {pics are optional} on the website listed as one of our writers.

Articles need to be between 1000 and 1200 words. Arial, 10pt., regular font. Single spaced, no indentation, but double spaced between paragraphs. The motto of the magazine is.."Discovering what makes us humans human"

I would like to find between 6 and 12 new writers. We need writers for;

Our Culture.. Discussions on ethnicity, school debates, like to homeschool or not, Cultural happenings, what makes us do what we do, articles about celebrities, concerts, anything to do with life in the USA.

Health .. discusing health issues, health care etc..

Close Encounters.. Sexuality, romance, love on the web, etc

News and Views .. The newest news, opinions and life in general

Business and Finance.. self explanitory

Features .. feature articles can be just about anything.

And TechNotes .. articles about stuff from a technological point of view.. Computers, comp games, electronics etc.

To get a better idea of what the magazine is.. You can visit The Hot Psychology website at http://www.hot-psychology.com/

If you would like to submit something for the July issue, which comes out July 5, Please have your articles to me by May 20. They will need to be edited, have rewrites done, polished, approved and to the magazine by June 15, to appear in the July 5th magazine.

I hope some of you take advantage of this opportunity to be published. The magazine will eventually be making money. Those who are in on the ground floor now will reap the benifits later.

Thanks..

Thanks Jay. There are some excellent writers here. I would love to have some of you join my team. And remember, you do not have to write every month. It would be nice if you did.. but we would like to have enough writers that it isn't necessary.

Thanks for your interest Coyote. Since my section is about culture in America, How about writing something on how computers have affected the culture in America as opposed to before computers..

Or about anything that involves our culture in America.

Thank You

Thanks for posting this Jay..

Yes we do need writers in all the catagories. And we also accept features, so if you have something you want to share just ocassionally, but do not want to write every month, we would love to see it.

We are currently accepting articles for the August issue until June 12. We will usually consider something a few days late, but no later than the 15. After that it goes to the next months issue...

you can send them to writersquill@iowatelecom.net or to lacy49@iowatelecom.net

We welcome all aspiring writers and remember.. it really looks good on a resume LOL

A lot of Publishers/Editors look at your published credits before they look at your writing!

Good luck with the mag though.

Thank you for the honor! We really do appreciate it!
And Jay we so appreciate all you have done to promote the mag.

Mike, we are new as yet, but hope soon to be able to pay. Getting started is costly and as yet, even us Editors don't get paid. Keep watching here though.. This forum will be one of the first to know when HP can start paying for articles!!

A few of our writers are not from America. The website is getting a fresh look. What areas do you write.

Hi Jay,

I know your response is aimed at fun2write, but i was think of submitting an article to your mag on the 'pitfalls in society because of our celebrity driven culture', (the title would be a lot snappier - LOL) it would from a UK perspective I haven't worked out the details yet, but would something like this be of interest?

(i guess i have to work on my pitching technique too! heehee)
