Default Cliche #1 - The Windows Were Boarded Up (original cliche)

Hi everyone! I'm starting something new that I hope everyone finds fun and entertaining. In addition to the prompts and challenges, we're going to try out a new writing cue with cliches!

Every other Wednesday, I'll be posting up a new cliched idea--whether it be a character, a plot, or just some random object or thing. Your goal is to either write it, soaking in the familiar tune, or you can put a new spin on it and try to make it something unique and exciting!

The first cliche is:

The Abandoned House

Is it haunted? Is it used for those wild teenage parties? Or is it merely a cave for the homeless to seek shelter? Whatever you decide it to be, write something up and let us read!

***

Submissions should be made as new threads with Cliche #1 in the title. Example: Cliche #1 - The Windows Were Boarded Up

Comments should be made in the respective threads. You don't need to participate in the cliche in order to comment on work presented.

Cool idea, Firefly! I shall put my thinking bonnet on. (See that? An original spin on an old cliché. )

Nasty idea, FF! ...very nice.

We had a prompt like this not long ago, didn't we?

I put my watching glasses (?) on for this now.

Lol - similar to the last prompt, yes--but still so different. Oh, so different. I just hope that everyone participates!

I'm definitely in but, as usual, I've rather gone on a bit. Off to post it now. Hope you approve of my effort.
