It might not be the same for people, but a good way of getting access to some classic works is by downloading the kindle app for your pc and then finding them via the store for free.
Looking at the titles I've got there, they are:

Beyond Good and Evil
The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
Frankenstein
Dracula
The Mysterious Island
The Shunned House
The Thirty Nine Steps
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Robinson Crusoe
Pride & Prejudice
Treasure Island
Aesop's Fables
Well worth downloading the Kindle app just to have the classics easily accessible. And I'm pretty sure there's more available.
