I feel peace—in Darkness,—
I shall not require the Bulb—
The Love of Life—a Prism be—
Eclipsing Violence—

I feel it stronger for the Decades
That huddle each other yonder—
The Nun's Oil—aplenty be—
To negate with Mine—

And from the Tomb—I see much more—
Its ruddy Forum be
Alight—All blooming with same Ore
I held it up so steep—

What want for Sunlight—
To Me, the Dark—hath like so—surpassing Day—
I reckon it be—Permanence—
At the Apogee!

I send a second Sundown—
Daytime versus my own Hours—in contest ran—
I completed a few—plus much better Dawns—
As The Others—made but the One—

Theirs deemed be liberal—yet did I
Say thusly to my friend Sarah—
My way—was the most timely
To Catch by the handy Eye—

I can sing alway, thru-out the Day—
The Jays will strut on by!
Onto their path for more gilt Climes—
All with a Pout's suspense—
And Myself—with my puffed up breast—
Also—my rhymes—

Now—as I prefer my Position—
Now—I may spring for louder tune—
Dark—is blacker, and earlier than Mating—Sir—
Dayspring—purely the sapling—of High Noon—

I will know how—once my Life is ended—
And I have refrained—ponder why;—
Call it a Day—pack in Abstract anguish
In lovely classroom under—Sky,

My lover tells me reasons—he made avowals
But—for determination of my Pain—
I will subsume the stains of Figments,
That scald me now—that scalds my name!

I would’ve been elated, I know—
Sky high—for the angry brow
Regarding Life's primitive Wheel—
My frugal Rounds wouldn’t have aimed
This new Circuit—have shamed—
My favorite of Dawns behind,

But then I'd been unleashed—often be—
Released—the Fright too dull for me
That I could watch what to say;
I had it flawed—yesterday—
The Floorless One—
Eli, eli, lama, sabachthani—
Quoted perfect—checkt—

Many seas touched, too much—I see—
But Elysium—mere—held up for me—
I'd have brought—the Bliss
But the Blood—to establish ’t;
The Ledges—in hoary Gethsemane—
Charm the Seaboard—yonder;
'Tis Paupers—Galas—define—
'Tis Thirsting—empowers Wine—
