Default Fiction Short Story Anthologies.

What's the highest paying publisher accepting shorts for an upcoming anthology?

Ummmm, yer mama.

I'd suggest trying something like duotrope https://duotrope.com/ and see what you come up with.

or try Ralan's site http://www.ralan.com

He's got a special section for paying anthologies.

I'm aware of the two sites. I was hoping for more of an 'inside' connection, possibly with a big publisher not advertised among the sites, that someone may be aware of. Preferably in the horror genre.

@kennyc: What! My mamma was recommended by your mamma!

I say go to smashwords. It's up and coming, might not be a bad place to start.

The best paying publisher of horror.
So you're looking for, what, half cent a word?

I posted in Classified last week from my publisher Untreed Reads. They have a horror anthology coming out and will pay 50% net to authors, obviously split. All the details are in the post and I can give them a glowing reference as great people to work with. I've been with them for nearly two years now for individual e-books.

I've been in a few anthologies and have never gotten payment. But as they were printed books I did get a copy and that was just as satisfying in a way.
