"Believe it!" she roared. "It was her!"

"That was a good one," she agreed enthusiastically.

"'Said' deserves to live!" She expounded vehemently, with a defiant fist raised to the sky.

"Shades of Scarlet O'Hara in that previous post," she whispered.

'Threfore insinuating it could be me,' she said, biting back on her grin as she slipping the invisible 'said rule' behind her back. 'Get the blame for everything lately, jeez...'

All right, all right. Do cut down the play acting. Or, fake speaking. It's getting me on my nerves, just reading this. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not. It depends on what you are writing, why you are writing, what you like to write with, what you are more comfortable reading as a reader, etc.

... he whispered. (Well, I couldn't resist. Really.)

"No! Where?" she gawped.

(Fancy writers not wanting to not use verbs like gawp!)

"SynonymousWords is covering the whole planet?" she cried. "Goodness, but that must be one enormous..." she murmered, her voice trailing away.

"I said, 'Said'!" she said saidly with just a trace of the said saidness.

"Yes, you can," Devon retorted, then sighed, "No, perhaps not."

(And saidly has to be the absolute worst made up adverb I've ever read!)

"T'was a dark and stormy night," she vomited, uncontrollably

I always wondered about that phrase. Vomiting controlably seems pretty rude.

What if you suddenly get ill while dining out - is it rude to vomit in the ice bucket rather than over your dinner companion?

I don't think I've ever vomited controllably. Who would want to?

Well, you can either be ill in a neat way, or a messy way. I'd rather it were done in a controlled manner. For example, the combination of ill child and projectile vomiting does not a pretty sight make.

This conversation just gets stranger with every post.

Oh, dear. I think I see your point. An ill child, projectile vomiting and I have been acquainted in the past. There was a wall involved. No, it wasn't pretty.

I think 'strange' is pretty much 'standard' for Writer's Beat.

Did he do that, too? Sorry, but I don't follow US politics that closely since we have our own batch of idiots here.

George Sr. tossed his crumpets into the lap of a dinner guest seated next to him. No less than the Primier of Japan.

My favorite result of the summit upchuck... the word "Bushuru" passed into the Japanese language, meaning to barf on somebody else.

So there's another alternative to "said"...

"I reject your economic policy from the bottom of my stomach," he bushurued.
