Default timeline creation website looking for paid freelance writers

Hi,

This is my first post here and I ask for the help of the moderators of this forum. It would be very nice of you to let this message through to your members because I believe that many of them could find this interesting.

My name is Mauro and I am one of the people behind www.myHistro.com, a startup website where people can create free interactive timelines.

We're trying to get as many interesting timelines as possible to fill our database. We are happy to pay to have some of them written. We have created a payout system that we think should be quite fair to the writers although we are not looking for thousands of writers so we can probably arrange something different with each of them. This is not how we intend to do business. We are not one of those sites that live off freelance writers. We are just doing this to get things started. We think that is is actually a great starting point for a job: we are considering hiring writers full time after this initial stage.

Thanks,

Mauro

Hi Everyone. Here is some feedback we got about our program from one of your fellow members:

1. I do think the payment scheme is fair and from what I can tell at this point seems inline with the amount of work needed to create the timelines. Particularly since it's a new website and also you are offering the chance to writers whether or not they have a great deal of experience, which means a great deal for writers who are starting out in freelancing.
2. I found the creation process very easy and very straight forward. Actually it was quite enjoyable.
3. I heard about your website and writing program through the ad you posted on writersbeat.com. It sounded very interesting.

Hi Everyone. I am just following up with some good news.

The payment scheme was all traffic based and some people complained that because our website is too new it was very hard to actually make money. So we changed the payment scheme to a fixed rate plus bonus.

The fix rate is $15.
The bonus is calculated based on views, likes etc. etc. up to a total of $40

I think that these numbers are very good especially for the small amount of time it takes to write simple timelines. The topics to write about are not "rocket science" either. The more mainstream the better. A timeline of Justin Bieber's bio will definitely be picked up by young teenagers and reaching the MAX is going to take no time.

There is also a refer a friend bonus. For every timeline your friends create you get $2. Please don't abuse of the refer code with refer trains and stuff like that or we're going to have to remove it later on. We are real people asking for help here and not some evil corporation to exploit.

I really hope to see many of you actually giving this a try.
Check out the new write-for-us page on myHistro for more info and get back to me with feedback or any questions you may have.
