Recently finished The Passage. Fucking amazing read, but then I discovered there's two more books in the series. Damn.

I'll take guess based on your picture that you would enjoy a good fantasy read. So I'd recommend The Painted Man by Peter V. Brett (first book of his Demon Cycle series). The story is genuinely gripping, filled with backstabbing, betrayal and believable character motivations. After reading the first three books I genuinely could not point out a stereotypical "villain" because all characters are set up so wonderfully that I never for a second disagreed with their decisions.
The second thing I would recommend is the Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. The best part of the series is no doubt the unique world and likeable characters. Also a genuinely one of a kind magic system, that I took great pleasure in studying for inspiration. An easy and enjoyable read.

Just started reading 'Topper' which is an old book I picked up for 50 cents at garage sale or thrift shop. It's pretty good so far! I love the witty dialogue in older books.

Thanks for the recommendations!
I checked those out, though if I'm honest fantasy isn't my preference anymore, even though I love to paint dragons and fantasy scenes, oops. Think I just got sick of the immaturity and cliches in pretty much every fantasy story I've read since Lord of the Rings.

Hmm, well the Mistborn series is inherently silly, with some pretty cheesy moments such as having the main protagonist - the frail 5ft tall girl, wield an 8 feet long massive greatsword she picked up from a Colossi.
The Painted Man however is quite different. Rather than using the fantasy elements as a tool like most stories, it uses it to create a setting for characters to play in. Nobody even uses magic per se until the second half of book two, and even then it's brief and fairly natural. So if you're looking for a more serious read - this is definitely the better choice.

I'm not one for reading, but I do often read a forum for comic relief. The forum is for a game named "Blockland" and the amount of fallacious and vicious reasoning there accumulates quite the mass of amusing responses.

I'm reading Brave New World at the moment - it's really very bizarre in a way that's intriguing rather than 'what's going on am i going to die wHAT.' Well, actually that was my initial reaction, but I'm halfway through and liking it now.

I hope you enjoy that book as I found it one of the biggest wastes of time ever for a book, perhaps the biggest of all time. King just doesn't know how to condense his descriptions and they seem to drag on forever.

Thought I’d be a smarty pants and read Anna Karenina before watching the film. Massive undertaking for a slow reader like me. Nearly finished. Fingers crossed, and considering it’s Russian, I’m hoping for a tragic ending.

What a travesty of a read.
I'm rereading Catch 22. And for class: Notes of The Underground

Confessions of a kinky wife - Justine Elyot (not normally my thing but it was a freebie on Amazon and is a suprisingly good read, touching on the dynamics within a trusting relationship.)
