Default Thrill is Gone.

http://www.bandmix.co.uk/jonnyconstantine/

(I used to rap... yeah, who'd have thunk it.)

Reppin’ the back in the day when you had to be a lyricist
Had to be the realist shit to get a mention
And the tension was high
But the vibe was good
And the mic would get heated up like fire wood
Trance wasn’t the order of the day
Like according to the format of today
That’s all that can get paid
Tabloid music and facebook gossip
And they wouldn’t stop it
‘cause it pays good profit
So as for the lack of music
I put a hammer to it
Stay in the shadows while you stay on the path of judas
Sellin’ mass confusion no food for thought,
Chapter are fruitless
Like we ina ice age nothing but snowing and nothing is growing
Your actors are clueless
And we beneath the surface with the seals
Not even searching for a deal (times 2)
Cause the thrill is gone…

We have a voice on stage with a mic
Express inner thoughts we couldn’t in everyday life
And every day and night we thirst
Like vampires curse
Soul lost ina verse
Unheard jewel lost in the dirt
From man who would toast in the 50’s
The culture is simply
Dying and the vultures are circling
Posters are circling
MC’s are churning up some garbage
And it’s burning up the heart of it
Forgot where it started but ‘round he we never knew
Maybe buy a documentary and get a clue
But everybody has a better view
And who the hell are you to say what’s acceptable
Hip hop culture doesn’t exist
But everybody can spit
Juvenile shit
You need a new stylist to
Powder your nose
Now you exposed
Plastic from your head down to your toes
Packed for you and yours A & R’s grinning
Act as if you and yours are made from hard living
Half-witted bars are far from being arse kickin’
Over dark rhythms
And it bores me to tears
You’re whores in clear heels
Pause and hear the real
Food for thought pour it on your meal
Like pepper sauce we got the grill
Cook a storm and chill (times 2)

I like this a lot! You do a good job with casual writing, you just say things bluntly. A lot of people attempt to do this, and it ends up sounding not so good. You do it well, and artistically!

I don't want to read.
It's getting painful.

Fiction sounds like truth and truth is fiction.

Who's fooling who?

Great lyrics.
Something tells me you have been in a talent agency.
This line seems to be the key
Packed for you and yours A & R’s grinning

Other favorite lines

Your actors are clueless

Plastic from head down to your toes

Would like to see some of your other work

Bob

That was supposed to say packaged, not packed.

But yeah, what the above poster said I guess. Grew out of this stuff a while ago but don't feel any better for it. Chanting is therapeutic.
