Default Sneaky Bastard

There he is

He's a top quality fencer
In superb physical twenty something condition
The best training gear

He's sittin' with the other guys been eliminated from
today's competition

I slowly walk by and overhear:
"I was doing great
Then I went up against some old guy
wearin'
boat shoes"

This was my life in the Seventies

Now I'm approachin' my Seventies

Grown some grey with my Van Dyke
Got some grey streakin' from the temples

But I continue wearing Engineer Boots

Don't see any sense in tippin' off the
tyros with that boat shoes
gag

Sneaky bastard, ain't I?

It's all part of Gamesmanship - cf Stephen Potter.

Reminds me of playing soccer with boots on, when I was a kid. Take your leg right out from under you.
