Default when you want to write about something you wish you knew more about

is it important to research or not worry about it way too much?
what's a good balance?

when i start researching i kinda go overboard and it becomes an excuse not to write lol

i wonder if i should cut this habit down or not do it at all and just see where the writing goes.

let me know

Look at someone like Ken Follett, his research is phenomenal. But I guess it depends on what you want to write about, is it historical. Is it set somewhere you have never been?

I guess if you want something to look realistic you will need some degree of research and how much depends on you.

One way to look at it you will broaden your knowledge on what ever you research which is just an added bonus.

Well if you want to know more about it, it won't help much to write about it without, you know, actually learning more about it.

Its about the law.

Sometimes it seems odd going through loads of info, half of which isn't helpful. Sometimes i know exactly what i need, other times i'm looking for a muse.

When does it get redundant? I know research helps but where do you draw the between looking for something to run with and looking for answers ?

I guess sometimes you just got to follow your gut.

Your gut will be able to tell you if you have enough, if in doubt write and then chase it up later, then get someone with a legal background to look over it.

Then you will have someone to add into your credits/acknowledgments when you publish.
