Default Independence for all the Yanks

For the Americans among us--you know who you are--we have Independence Day today!

Or, as I'm obligated to say every Fourth of July, "Thank-goodness-we-got-rid-of-them Day" in England.

Anyway, stand tall and proud for your freedom to live freely, in a state of natural rights without anarchy and no taxation without representation and a nice system of state-by-state government as opposed to a massive federal dicatorship and blah-blah-blah. Basically meaning, Happy Independence Day! So light some explosives and have a darn good time!

And because I'm a site Administrator, I'm allowed to push my own creative work in announcements, so there's my version of the Star-Spangled Banner with guitars and drums and all that cool loud stuff that makes you want to go out and celebrate harder.

And you're perfectly free to turn it up good an' loud.

Happy yankin' (love the pun? ) Independance Day.

I've watched the movie, by the way.

It’s the fourth again? Time to go into the nuclear proof bunker several miles underground again. I’ll come back in a couple of week when I have confirmed that the only thing people have blown up are fireworks.

Oh, is it Thank-goodness-we-got-rid-of-them Day already? And here the only thing in my desk diary is to give the dogs their flea drops.

Happy fireworks & barbeques!

If anybody's wondering, tossing a gasoline-soaked rag over a can of termite spray, lighting 'er up, and puncturing the can with an air rifle produces naught more than a dull poof of flame and then a drawn-out, boring conflagration.

This is why I also buy fireworks, which, by the way, were awesome and definitely worth a scorched finger or two

Of course the British celebrate July 4th. They call it "Thanksgiving." (Not an original observation.)

Firebug, someone must have swatted you. You responded to my poem and never said "hello again." Thought I might just slip in the side door.
